Not Just a Broker

An aircraft broker will sit down with a client and analyze their situation and make recommendations on what type of aircraft will fulfill their requirements. He will place a realistic market value on any aircraft to be traded and/or any aircraft wishing to be acquired. He will also identify the best aircraft in the world that fits this description, and offer comparative analysis on any aircraft closely matching this choice.

After an extensive review of the aircraft’s history and maintenance records, logbook entries, engine serial numbers and major parts component research, scheduled maintenance programs, engine programs, avionics programs, and any applicable warranties, a thorough pre-purchase inspection would be performed.

Upon the completion of this process the purchase arrangements will be agreed upon and an escrow account will be opened to handle the closing. If all went according to plan, this process would conclude with the buyer taking delivery of the aircraft and all Federal, State, and any International paperwork if needed being attended too.

Most relationships between buyers and brokers end here.

At Steele Aviation, we like to think the relationship is just getting started. Buying a pedigree aircraft is just one element of a successful aircraft ownership experience. Most owners look to upgrade their aircraft every 2 – 4 years. With this is mind; the purchasing experience normally represents only about ten percent of the ownership term. We believe the other ninety percent of the time should be as hassle free and enjoyable as the acquisition process.

Real-Time Competitive Analysis

When you’re looking to acquire an aircraft timing is critical. Most buyers are looking for that special aircraft that stands out from the rest, the one with a great history and beautiful new paint and interior.

Those deals do not last very long.

You need representation that not only knows immediately when something like that comes along, but also when something like that is about to come along. Steele Aviation specializes in those aircraft that are undervalued and stand out that are not necessarily on the market.

We spend a lot of time and money every month to provide you with up to the minute information on the aircraft marketplace. We look forward to the opportunity to show you how our experience and knowledge can benefit you.

New vs. Pre-Owned

The decision seems relatively easy. This could not be further from the truth. Buying a new aircraft is obviously the choice of many especially with the accelerated tax depreciation schedules being offered. However, with acquisition prices being many times that of a used equivalent each situation demands heavy analysis.

We at Steele Aviation will eliminate any doubts as to what aircraft will suit your needs and we will make your decision easy with our simple to read comparative analysis reports.

Critical Facts to Know

If you’re buying a new aircraft the variables relating to that purchase are decreased immensely. If however, you’re planning to purchase a used aircraft; you are exposing yourself to a plethora of issues you need assistance on.

When you buy a new aircraft, you need to know issues of relevance such as:

  • Are there any ongoing problems that are still a concern?
  • What is the general census among current operators?
  • Has the aircraft lived up to its manufacturers expectations?

Although the previous items represent only about 5% of the acquisition equation, we hope you can appreciate how much of a necessity it is to have someone knowledgeable on your side.

At Steele Aviation, we will siphon out all the jargon and lay it out in a simple to understand spreadsheet so you can educate yourself in the process.
